Urs Wehrle, violin

Miriana Cota, violin

Urs Wehrle grew up in the Zurich area of Switzerland. He started his musical adventures in elementary school where he picked the violin as his instrument of choice. From early on, he played in the local youth orchestra performing with the children’s church choir. Growing up and attending yearly music camps provided him with ample time to explore the orchestral repertoire and playing in various chamber music formations. With the advanced youth orchestra, Urs performed operas, concertos, and symphonies at the annual Ottorino Respighi Festival in Assisi Italy.

While earning his Masters in Computer Science, and later during his professional life, playing violin in numerous orchestras and chamber music groups was always an important part to balance the pressure of work. After moving to California from Switzerland, Urs attended the California Capital chamber music workshops and was invited to play with the Auburn Symphony and Folsom Lake Symphony. Now in retirement, he enjoys playing in various chamber music groups and orchestras.
