Folsom Lake Symphony Reviews

“Maestro Jaffe made the Heroes and Villains production especially memorable. His costume changes and fun interactions with the crowd made the music into a complete entertainment experience. Will be back soon to enjoy more from the wonderful Folsom Lake Symphony.” Jeff Terron, Orangevale, Heroes and Villains, June 2019

“What a fabulous Sunday matinee listening to the talented folks of the Folsom Lake Symphony play much-loved favorites from TV, movies and beyond! I was transported to the Bat mobile, Hogwarts, underwater escaping from Jaws, and into the intriguing world of James Bond. Where will the music take us next? Can’t wait to find out.”  Susanne Logan, Cameron Park, Heroes and Villains, June 2019

“Just a quick note to thank you for the invitation Heroes and Villains Symphony on June 2nd.  It was the first time that my husband and I had been to a Folsom Lake Symphony and we loved it.  We appreciate the amount of work it must take to put all the customs and program together to deliver a such fun, well-organized and beautiful show.  There were times where the sound of the symphony was so irresistibly beautiful and perfect that it made the hair on the back of my neck stand.  Also, the guest artist, Glory Parsons was a compliment that just made the night completely magical and unforgettable.  The facilities were immaculate and the staff kind and  helpful.  We will be returning to enjoy some of your amazing shows.” Maria Contreras, Stockton, Heroes and Villains, June 2019

“This is the first time I have been to a symphony…I’m impressed. I have just learned that I am a symphony man!” Sam Parsons, Cameron Park, Heroes and Villains, June 2019

“What made performing with the Folsom Lake Symphony stand out for me was the commitment by the volunteer musicians; they are proud to make music, and the audience is more than appreciative of that. I had a wonderful time performing in Broadway Romance and especially enjoyed the musicians on and off the stage!”  Lisa Vroman, Broadway Romance, June 2018

“What a great concert by FLS last night. Jon Nakamatsu was fantastic. From my seat I had the perfect top view of his fingers gliding across the piano … how he moved his hands with varying degrees of emphasis while producing enchanting music. I also loved the Shostakovich piece. I could almost envision the people being marched off to the Gulag during the heaviest parts. Maestro Peter Jaffe clearly knows the piece well as he didn’t have any music in front of him. … FLS does not need to take a back seat to even the great orchestras of this country.” Ron Smith, Granite Bay, Epic Victory, October 2017

While visiting from Alberta, Canada, I was privileged to go to the Folsom Lake Symphony. I thoroughly enjoyed the orchestra and especially the tenors. The music moved me more than I can say.  Barbara Jackson, Alberta, Canada, Festa Italiana, June 2017

“I loved the Holiday Concert!  A wonderful mix of classical favorites, with a fun Christmas sing-a-long, and ending with Handel’s Messiah, The Hallelujah Chorus. The Folsom Lake Symphony would be a compliment to any large city, and we are blessed to have them right here in our own city.” Dawn Johnson, Vice President, The Folsom Chamber of Commerce, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“The Holiday Cheer concert was so festive and really put me in the holiday spirit, especially my favorite Oh Holy Night. I went with a friend who was experiencing the symphony for the first time – it was a great introduction!!” Susanne Logan, Cameron Park, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“We had a very enjoyable and festive time at the Folsom Lake Symphony’s “Holiday Cheer” performance.  The event helped us get into full holiday spirit with an excellent symphony performance, a heavenly sounding  operatic singer, delightful choir singers, and a chance to sing along to favorite Christmas carols!  Bravo!” Pablo & Darla Sarabia, Folsom, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

The “Holiday Cheer” concert was great. The guest artist, Alexandra Schenck, should be included on all your concerts. Her voice is one of the most beautiful I have heard. Her range and presentation were a real pleasure to hear. Thank you for adding her to the program.  Jim Kirstein, Folsom, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“Last Saturday night’s concert by the Folsom Symphony was beautifully JOYOUS! …. a WONDERFUL gift to all of us in the audience!!!  Jim and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute!” Mary & Jim Powell, El Dorado Hills, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“The Holiday Cheer concert was magical. We had such a wonderful time. I can’t say enough about how fantastic the Folsom Lake Symphony is.” Talina Burke, Folsom,  Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“In an era where grants for the arts are at an all-time low, it’s amazing how the Folsom Lake  Symphony is not only growing, but thriving! While some might drive to either Sacramento or San Francisco, I believe that the finest orchestra in Northern California is right here in our own backyard. Peter Jaffe’s “Holiday Cheer” was not only delightful, with the added talent of Alexandra  Schenck – truly spectacular! Many holiday wishes to the talented and delightful Folsom Lake Symphony.” Lou Peele, Folsom, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“The Folsom Lake Symphony is one of the true treasures of Folsom and as a side note, the Harris Center doesn’t have a bad seat in the house!” T.D., Folsom, Holiday Cheer, December 2016

“My husband and I attended the Folsom Lake Symphony concert last night and it literally put tears in my eyes – how the symphony has grown, developed over thirteen years! I have attended and will continue to attend the rest of my life – I LOVE Maestro Peter Jaffe, his conducting and the musicians who play and soloists he chooses.  That said,  I never want to change my symphony seats!”  Cindy Kaye, Rhythmic Heat, October 2016

“I attended Sunday’s matinee performance of “Hollywood Hits” as an invited guest of a patron. The selection of scores was diverse and kept the audience’s attention at all times. The Conductor, Peter Jaffe, is very entertaining and appeared in costume according to the theme of the music being played. The symphony performed selections familiar to all generations and are incredibly talented — performing flawlessly! I experienced a great event and will be back to enjoy more shows in the future. Lastly, the Harris Center is a wonderful facility!  Consider me a new fan!” Bobby Contreras, Sacramento, Hollywood Hits, June 2016
