Tom joined the Folsom Lake Symphony trumpet section in 2007 on the path to rediscovering his love of music performance after a twenty-three year hiatus. Though largely self-taught, he’s focused improving his skills most recently under Vacchiano protégé Ron Blais (Skywalker Studios; US Air Force Band Soloist, Washington DC).

He is currently principal trumpet for the Valley Choral Society, and has performed as acting principal trumpet for Folsom Lake Symphony. He also enjoys performing with the Sierra Nevada Winds under Dr. Bob Halseth, Sacramento Symphonic Winds under Dr. Timothy Smith, pit music, and in brass and chamber ensembles.

Tom holds degrees in engineering, and is an IT architect for the University of California.
