Joel Bickel. bass

Joel Bickel is a senior at Folsom High School and currently plays in their nationally recognized, Downbeat Award winning Jazz Band I, Jazz Choir I, Jazz Combo I, and Chamber Orchestra. He has also played with the California All-State Symphony Orchestra (4 years), Sacramento Youth Symphony, Rolling Hills Christian Church Worship Band, and is a current member of the Folsom Lake College Youth Chamber Orchestra. Joel hopes to pursue a double major in both Music Education and Music Performance and become a music teacher either in California or Colorado to give back all that he has learned and experienced from those who have taught and inspired him the most. When he isn’t practicing, Joel finds pleasure in performing improvisational classical and jazz music in the Sacramento area as well as playing for local senior center residents. Although born in South Africa, Joel has lived in Folsom, California for 14 years and through his position in the Folsom Lake Symphony looks forward to introducing a new generation to the beautiful world of classical music.
