Celebrate the excitement leading up to our nation’s 250th birthday with a stirring program of iconic American music. Highlights include George Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and Variations on “I Got Rhythm” (featuring pianist Natsuki Fukasawa), Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, and Aaron Copland’s Lincoln Portrait, narrated by Ralph Cato. The concert also features beloved favorites from stage and screen, making it a perfect celebration for audiences of all ages.

Esteemed for his warm, rich voice, Ralph Cato travels the world telling stories through song. Whether performing oratorio, opera, or show tunes, his performances are consistently memorable. He has performed with numerous orchestras and has been recognized for his roles in operas such as Amonasro in Aida, Scarpia in Tosca, Tonio in Pagliacci, and Germont in La Traviata. A testament to his versatility. Mr. Cato was featured in the Folsom Lake Symphony’s “Hollywood Hits” program in 2016 and returned in 2024 for a celebrated performance of Carmina Burana.

Natsuki Fukasawa, piano
Steinway Artist Natsuki Fukasawa is an internationally acclaimed pianist who has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, Israel, Australia, Brazil, Japan, and China. She has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and Tivoli Concert Hall.

Praised by Strad and Fanfare Magazine, she is a recipient of the Danish Music Award for Best Chamber Music Recording of the Year. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Fukasawa holds degrees from The Juilliard School and the University of Maryland and serves on the faculties of American River College and the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music.
