Gershwin: Piano Concerto in F
Dvořák: “New World” Symphony

Experience an unforgettable evening with the Folsom Lake Symphony as they present a stellar blend of American and European musical styles. The concert opens with George Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F, a vibrant fusion of jazz rhythms and classical form that captures the dynamic spirit of 1920s America. Gershwin’s work is a celebration of America’s cultural diversity, a theme echoed in Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, “New World”. Composed during his time in the United States, Dvořák’s symphony is a heartfelt tribute to the country’s rich musical landscape, blending traditional European symphonic structure with the soulful melodies of American folk music. Together, these two iconic pieces reflect a journey through the “New World,” where tradition meets innovation and diverse influences come together to create something truly extraordinary.
