Learn to “construct” your own musical masterpiece

How are those amazing musical masterpieces composed? Find out at our next specially priced family concert, “Construction Zone: Musicians at Work,” March 10, 2018, at the Harris Center. Maestro Jaffe will lead families and kids on a fascinating musical journey to explore how composers “construct” much of their work. The pieces will include familiar classical tunes of Beethoven and Mozart to the movie themes from the “Pink Panther” and “Superman.”

The hour long concert begins at 11:00 a.m. and includes select classical pieces and audience interaction with Maestro Jaffe and the orchestra. In the lobby after the concert we hold our “instrument petting zoo,” where youngsters can meet some of the musicians and try out their instruments.

This fun concert is priced for all: $10 for adults, $5 for children. Sponsorships are available for underserved communities.

The symphony offers this program as part of its commitment to extend music education and appreciation more broadly in the community. It was made possible by the generous donations to last year’s An Evening Under the Stars Gala.

The ticket prices exclude all Harris Center fees. There are no assigned seats for this performance – but we expect to sell out, so please get your tickets early. For ticket, click here, call 916-608-6888  or visit the Harris Center ticket office at 10 College Parkway, Folsom.

Here are a few pictures of my daughters from the 2017 Family concert. I wanted you to see what joy it was for them to try the instruments. Thank you again for putting this on! Jennifer Brown, El Dorado Hills, CA
