Season subscriptions and individual tickets are  now on sale and can be purchased online, by calling 916-608-6888 or by visiting the Harris Center Ticket Office.

Our fourteenth season, beginning this fall, invites you to take an emotional journey around the world of beautiful music. Our engaging and varied concerts – five regular-season performances plus three special community outreach concerts – as planned by Maestro Peter Jaffe, will transport you through epic and heroic quests, passion and virtuosity, and real flights of fancy.  Here is a brief look at the lineup:

    • Epic Victory, October 14, 2017, 7:30 p.m.
      Season opener. Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. Pianist Jon Nakamatsu solos.
    • Deck the Hall, December 2, 2017, 7:30 p.m. and December 3, 2017,  2:00 p.m.
      Traditional fun holiday concert, this year with instrumentals, vocal music and a singalong. Playbill includes ”Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Believe” from Polar Express, “O Holy Night,” Sleigh Ride, selections from The Nutcracker and many other treats. Soloist: tenor Dennis McNeil. Guest conductor: John Kendall Bailey.
    • Passion & Drama, February 10, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
      For a special Valentine’s Day, enjoy Barber’s Adagio for Strings, Haydn’s Concertante, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, “Pathétique.” Four symphony principal musicians solo in the Haydn.
    • Glorious Adventure, March 24, 2018, 7:30 p.m.
      Brahms’ Violin Concerto, Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, Elgar’s “Enigma” Variations. Soloist: violinist Adele Anthony.
    • Broadway Romance, June 2, 2018, 7:30 p.m. and June 3, 2018, 2:00 p.m.
      Our annual pops finale featuring favorite romantic Broadway tunes including works from The Phantom of the Opera, Music Man and Sound of Music. With soprano Lisa Vroman.

    Our three special concerts include two free al fresco performances and one low-cost educational program especially for families and youths. These concerts are not part of the subscription package.

      • Strike Up the Band, September 7, 2017, 6:30 p.m.
        Free outdoor concert at El Dorado Hills Town Center. Get a rhythmic charge with spirited tunes by Gershwin, Tchaikovsky, Bagley, Styne, Mancini and more.
      • Construction Zone: Musicians at Work! March 10, 2018, 11:00 a.m.
        Our popular family concert, with fun teaching moments from Maestro Jaffe and an “instrument petting zoo” for kids at the end. Repertoire includes Bach’s Fugue, Russian Sailor’s Dance, Superman March and more. Some scholarships are available.
      • Symphony in the Historic District, May 4, 2018, 7:00 p.m.
        Our newest free concert at the Historic Folsom amphitheater. Upbeat selections from Broadway, TV and movies, with a tribute to John Williams (composer of Star Wars music among many others).

      Zone 1:    $265 (limited availability)
      Zone 2:    $196 adult/$176 seniors/students
      Zone 3:    $176/$156
      Zone 4:    $152/$132
      Zone 5:    $113/$90.

      Subscription prices enjoy up to a 20% discount over individual concert tickets.

      All concerts except the El Dorado Hills and Historic Folsom performances are at the Harris Center on the Folsom Lake College campus. The El Dorado Hills concert is at Town Center.
